After completing matric, you volunteered at SAPS Hlanganani Station, serving your community with dedication before joining Great North Transport – Makhado Depot as a bus driver.
You transported commuters from different villages in Hlanganani to Makhado, and later moved to Tzaneen, transporting passengers from areas like Mhlaba, Petanenge, N’wamitwa, Bekkersdorp, and many surrounding villages to their work destinations.
Through hard work and perseverance, you earned a bursary, studied at the University of Johannesburg, and graduated with a Diploma in Road Transport Management.
Today, you excel as an Operations Supervisor.
You are also one of the few female qualified bus drivers with Code 14 & PDP, proving your dedication, commitment, and trust in your abilities.
Your story is a true reflection of resilience, humility, and determination.
As one of the dedicated founders, you continue to inspire by empowering unemployed individuals and students through motivation and skills development.

Born in 1972, today we celebrate 54 remarkable years of a life dedicated to education, leadership, and community empowerment.
Your journey began at Vungela Primary School (1979–1985), followed by Akani High School (1986–1990), where a strong foundation for excellence was built. In 1991, you enrolled at the former Giyani College of Education in the then Gazankulu homeland and successfully completed your Teaching qualification in 1993.
In 1994, you began your noble calling as an educator at Vungela Primary School. You later served at Masiza Primary and Tiyani Secondary School, before moving to Mahumani High School in Nkomo Village outside Giyani — where your long and loyal service of 30 years continues to make a lasting impact. Today, you proudly serve as the Principal of Mahumani High School, shaping generations of learners with wisdom, discipline, and compassion.
Beyond the classroom, your leadership voice is powerful. As an active SADTU member, you have served in several responsibilities before rising to become the Regional Chairperson of SADTU Mopani Region, advocating for the development and wellbeing of educators.
Within our beloved Akani Reunion Foundation, you first served diligently as Interim Executive Treasurer before being entrusted with the responsibility of Chairperson. Under your leadership, our growing organization continues to empower communities through education and opportunities.

Today we celebrate a phenomenal woman born on 04 March 1976 in Tiyani Village — a nurse by profession, a leader by heart, and a pillar of the Akani Reunion Foundation.
Her educational journey began at Vungela Primary School (1984–1990), followed by Akani High School in 1991. She later pursued her calling in nursing at Lungile Nursing College (2003–2004).
In 2005, she secured a permanent nursing position at Leratong Hospital, where she is proudly celebrating 21 years of loyal and dedicated service Her compassion and professionalism continue to touch countless lives.
Committed to lifelong learning, she furthered her studies at University of South Africa (UNISA), completing a National Diploma in Safety Management in 2012.
As a Co-Founder of the Akani Reunion Foundation, she remains a devoted and active member, passionately supporting and empowering learners to excel academically and pursue greater opportunities.
Mama Rirhandzu, we thank you for your dedication, humility, and unwavering commitment to both healthcare and community development.
